A snow plow caught the expansion joint. There it is.... The snowplow didn't fare as well....Here is where I crawled into the expansion joint, under the plate they welded above where the joint goes to take some measurements. This is the "repaired" pier where Swalling smashed into it with their crane. Note the large post-tensioned top of the pier repair.Another picture of that pier. Note how far the rocker bearings are leaning....The damage to the web from when the crane hit.I guess they use this pier as a "rock climbing wall".

I didn't see any "no spawn munching" signs.... must be an oversight.The bucket isn't supposed to lean that far back. That is how far back it creeps after about a minute or two. This is an odd bridge because the cables from the pier to the girders...This rail is a little low.... its more like a launch ramp than a rail....Note the missing column on Chistochina No. 2's second pier from the closest abutment.A spur dike. They work great, and (sarcasm)environmentalists love them(/sarcasm).
